The Northern Chickadee is a small bird almost universally seen as "cute" due to its over sized round head, tiny body, and natural curiosity. It can be found anywhere with trees or woody shrubs, from forests to residential neighborhoods and parks. Its distinguishing features include black cap and bib, white cheeks, gray back, wings, and tails, as well as its whitish underside. Its curiosity and natural tendency to investigate and discover newcomers make it one of the first birds most birdwatchers become acquainted with.
