The Red-breasted Teal, or Cinnamon Teal, is a small brightly colored duck, found in ponds throughout the American West. The breeding male has bright cinnamon head and body plumage, dark rump, tail, and undertail. Upper wing with light-blue patch with white rear border, and iridescent green on the back of its wings. The plumage of the nonbreeding birds and females are gray-brown overall, with rusty wash, small white area at the base of the bill, and red eyes
